STRADEGIC Sites, a subsidiary of Helios, Kilmartin and JC Musgrave’s joint venture Wynyard Park Ltd, has been appointed lead developer on a mixed-use regeneration project in Huddersfield.
The Waterfront Quarter scheme will be on a 6 acre (2.4 ha) site on the edge of Huddersfield Town Centre. It has a potential completion value of around £150m.
The site has outline planning consent for 300,000 sq ft (27,870 sq m) of offices, 560 flats and a hotel.
A detailed planning application will be submitted this year, and work is expected to start on site in early 2008.
The site is occupied by Sellers Engineers and Kirklees Metropolitan Council. Strategic is working with Sellers on a mixed-use project that will include homes, offices, industrial and leisure.
The first phase will feature up to 120,000 sq ft (11,148 sq m) of grade A offices and 100 flats.
Leeds-based property consultant Dove Haigh Phillips advised Sellers and has been appointed lead property consultant.
